Research

Objectives

Create a survey for product designers to score the design system, and allow the design system team to understand where we can improve to optimize these performance metrics.

To see trends in the score, the survey is to be launched quarterly after each product increment (P.I.) via Microsoft Forms to our users to give anonymous responses.

Completion

April 2023 to Current

Objectives

Goals of the survey

  1. View net promoter scores (NPS) for the overall Design System

Viewing these scores after each quarter can help us see trends in users.

Net promoter score (NPS)

How to read a NPS

  • NPS is calculated by subtracting % of detractors (scores 0-6) from % of promoters (scores 9-10)

  • Below is a guide on how to read NPS; anything below 0 is not good, while anything above 0 is good.

Conclusion

Your needs evolve, so let the design system evolve with you

I think we all know that getting honest and frequent feedback from the users of our product is invaluable. People who don't like a product won't use it!

This survey gives the design system a chance to hear insights from our users, gauge areas we need to look at for improvement, as well as measure performance metrics of an internal tool a design system creates.
